You can use free plagiarism checkers online if you don’t want to pay for Copyscape. They do not sift through the internet as well, but they can catch major errors that come up. There are tons of these checkers to try, so you can simply run a search for them and find the one that works best for you. We try to avoid this in our office though because we prefer the accuracy of Copyscape.
Believe it or not, you can use Google as a way to check for plagiarism. We sometimes do this as a backup to Copyscape just to make sure we aren’t missing anything. Google cannot support as many characters as Copyscape, but it’s free to use. Simply copy a sentence or two from an article you are worried about into the Google search bar. If anything shows up identical or very similar, you might want to take a screenshot and then contact your copywriter service.
