If you are only making one post a week or month, you need to make sure that post counts. A lot of business owners get caught up in trying to blog about everything their business covers. People don’t enjoy reading haphazard posts like this.

Instead of blogging about anything and everything, try targeting a certain subject in your blog. If you have a home renovation business, make your blog about remodeling. If you have a dental practice, make your blog about oral health. Pick a subject your audience will connect to, and then try hard not to deviate from that.

You Stop Blogging When Traffic Slows

It’s easy to lose your passion for your corporate blog when people aren’t coming to it. Why spend time on something that isn’t doing anything for you, right? WRONG.

Consistency is a crucial part of running a successful blog. The more predictable your posting schedule is, the better off you will be. Even if no one is coming to your blog, there is no telling how many posts your future readers will go through. You need to give them something to read. Maintain your posting schedule even if your traffic comes to a stop.

You Ignore Your Readers

In the case of a corporate blog, your readers are all potential customers. By interacting with them on a regular basis, you will build their trust and possibly earn their business. If someone makes a legitimate comment on your blog, respond to it. Even something as simple as a “thank you” is enough to show people you care about your customers.

Since most bloggers ignore their commenters, you could essentially steal clients from your competition by engaging with their audience.
